Great Info for a Beginner! by Kas
We have been feeding our 14 month rottie the raw food diet for the past 4 months. The changes in her since the switch are incredible! Fresh breath, lean physique, gleeming white teeth, and less shedding to name a few! This book would be helpful to the beginner. Two of my friends borrowed it and switched their lucky dogs to the diet. Fast read, read in a few hours, which is great so you can get started!
Beginners Bible by B. Elias
If you are considering feeding a raw-food diet to your dog, this is the best book to get. It is simple to read and it makes feeding raw almost as easy as opening a bag of dog food. There are so many books out there that make raw feeding difficult and so many people have the “right way” but this book is simple, informative, and answers all your questions. It is written by someone who is feeding raw and has beautiful healthy dogs to show for it.
Excellent BARF book by RN
This book is packed with great information and helpful hints and ideas for a “BARF” diet. Her examples with her own dogs helped me a lot. I started my golden retriever on this diet several months ago and was so worried that I wasn’t “doing it right”.
This book gave me all the information I needed and more. It is very easy and quick to read. I will continue to do more research but this was a great starter. I have recommended it to friends as a “must have” if they are going to start their dogs on the “BARF” diet.
I know all dogs don’t have the same needs but this was enough information to keep me from switching back to a kibble diet.
Best book for new raw-feeders! by A. Clarkson
This is the best book for people who are new to feeding their dogs a raw diet! All of us were there at one point and this book allays the common fears about raw feeding, makes it simple, and does it in a most entertaining way! Who knew a book on feeding your dog would make you laugh out loud? As someone with a small business selling raw foods for pets, I hand this book out all the time to new customers. There are many other books that break down raw diets into proportions and percentages that require all kinds of weights and measures and spreadsheets and everything else, but my feeling is that I don’t feed myself or my family that way, why would my dog’s/cat’s diet be any different? Wolves and lions don’t sit down in the morning and plan a perfectly balanced diet for the day! “Balance over time” is the best plan to follow, and it’s easy!
